"Bach-List-Wagner" from the cycle "Masterpieces of World Organ Art" Soloist: Alexey Shmidtov (Russia) (6+)

Immerse yourself in the majestic sound of the 'king of instruments' in the country's main concert hall. This concert is a rare opportunity to hear brilliant transcriptions of Wagner's operatic masterpieces ("Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg," "Tannhäuser") and the deep spirituality of Bach, performed by the "Organist of the Year" award laureate Alexey Shmitov. You will witness a virtuoso dialogue between epochs—from the strict polyphony of Leipzig chorales to Lisztian flows of fantasies and fugues. Musicologist Olga Savitskaya will reveal the secrets of the composer's intent, making complex music accessible and understandable. This evening is for those seeking aesthetic delight, intellectual pleasure, and the power of live organ sound in the perfect acoustics of the Philharmonia's Great Hall.
